Writer's Block?

So if you didn't just start following me today you'll notice I completely revamped my blog's layout. I'm quite happy with the way it looks. I was going make my own video today and post it here on the blog about how to get free PC video games but I don't know how to make it entertaining while I talk. I mean I could just type it out but that would be boring, and I haven't put out a new Youtube video out for almost two months. So I'm two or three days into blogging now and I have 9 followers. For those of you who have like a hundred or a few hundred or whatnot followers any tips on how to amass a larger audience would be greatly appreciated. Also any ideas for what to do in my next Youtube video would be good, I was thinking about just coloring a picture and talking, maybe I'll stick to that. I'll probably also be posting on my blog daily for now on. Get to know me guys, I'll be reading all of your blogs.

  1. The layout looks good. I wish I had the same shoes as the guy in the video.

  2. well considering i just found you today...the blog layout looks nice...pleasing colors...

so how to build your audience...

#1 comment - its like a relationship in that people will comment on you when you comment

#2 community - there are several communities online or memes - weekly creative blog sessions...i run one called dversepoets.com and we do three events each week where people link in and visit each other. it allows you to find a larger audience.

those are my two ideas that helped me...

  3. Main thing as said, comment back on all who comment on you. Then look at the people commenting on their blog and check them out too, you'll reach a few hundred in no time.

  5. 3 followers in 12 hours? You're doing pretty well, by my standards.
Apart from what's already been said, I'd suggest doing a livestream of you drawing. It creates an incomparable level of interactivity between you and your audience.
    >.< Pity I have no idea how to do it. Something between web-cam programs and screen-capture.

  6. Everyone else has already told you how to amass followers lol. Just comment on other peoples blogs and they typically check you out. I check out anyone who comments on my place, but I don't always follow them. Not wanting to just be cheap and leave spam comments is preventing me from amassing a big following really, but I'd rather be honest. I have no idea why.

  8. There are some really nice people out here on blogger. The really big bloggers have always returned my comments and followed me back. They are very professional about it and we've become a nice friendly group. I've got less than 100 followers but I get almost 200 pageviews a day and some of that is because I have a twitter account based in the UK and they read me. Be entertaining, return comments, give courtesy follows and you'll be okay. I followed you back.

  9. The layout is epic!
Well, I've got the same things as everyone else. That's what helps blogs grow, from what I've learnt.
Also, if you want to keep up-to-date with who's posting what, make a blogroll gadget on the side, with the blogs you will follow on it. That way, any new posts will be on the top, and you will be notified (well, sort of).

  10. Maybe you should have a monkey on your shoulder and be juggling while you talk??? I think that's pretty interesting and will set you apart from all the other youtube videos. I actually would be really interested in how to get free PC games anyway although I have to say new games don't get me like the classics. This makes me want to bust out Doom II.

I did make that huge dreamcatcher!! I had just moved in and my wall looked too bare so I busted out some feathers and hemp I had and pieced it together. It turned out pretty well. Thanks for following, I did the same. I am anticipating that video once you get your hands on a willing monkey.

  11. OH forgot to mention your link didn't work but Charles Manson was friends with the Beach Boys. I watched the VH1 Beach Boys movie awhile back and thought that shit was hilarious. I love how the Beach Boys appear squeaky clean but they were pussy hungry psycho junkies.

  12. Alright, something that hasn't been said to get yourself followers and it still has to do with comments. Find blogs that you 'like', comment on those. Leave real thoughts, put forward your ideas or just be funny. This is great because even if the blogger doesn't visit you back, the people who read and like your comment will take interest and check your blog.

Also a schedule helps for me. But you're doing that. And lots of patience, don't rush into a following, if you've got an average of 10 people commenting, you're doing great, trust me.

Value the followers you've got while you have them. The number is always there, growing, but as individuals they usually only last so long.

  13. What I learned from my other blog (has around 80+ followers but I rarely update it anymore) is that you should try and comment on other pages. Also, you can try linking it to your facebook and youtube account. That will help.

    Anyway, nice blog. I'm following.
